The library staff is here to help, but here is a list of some frequently asked questions to save you some time finding answers.

Managing Your Library Account:

Go to WYLDCAT, the online catalog, and click ‘Sign In’ on the right of the page.

 

You will be asked to enter your library card number; this number can be found on the back of your library card. Your PIN is likely the default PIN: WYLD

The default PIN for all accounts is WYLD.

Privileges expire every 3 years on every cardholder’s library card. This helps the library maintain correct contact information. To renew your privileges please call or stop into the library.

Books, Audiobooks and STEAM Kits
35 items at a time. Books, Audiobooks and STEAM kits check out for 3 weeks.

DVDs
5 items at a time, only 1 season of a series at a time. DVDs check out for 1 week.

Kindles
1 kindle per card can be checked out. Kindles check out for 3 weeks.

Blood Pressure Cuff Kits
1 kit per card. Kits check out for 1 week. Special extensions can be given upon request.

Disc Golf Discs and Tennis Racquets
1 per card. Items check out for 1 week

DVD Player
1 per card. DVD player checks out for 1 week

CD Player
1 per card. CD Player checks out for 3 weeks

  1. Login to parent account at goshen.wyldcatalog.org
  2. Click on your name to access the dropdown menu.
  3. Click on “Linked Accounts”
  4. Click “Add an account” and type in library card number and  PIN
  5. Once added, parents will be able to:
    • See items checked out to child
    • Renew items checked out to child

Renewals, Holds, and Fees:

To view an item’s due date, you must access your library account (See ‘How do I log into my account’). Select your account’s “Checked Out Titles” tab to view all your items and the due dates.

Books and audiobooks automatically renew twice. Items will NOT renew if an item is on hold for another patron or your account has a fine or fee attached. You can see the new due date by signing into your account (see ‘When are my items due?’)

To view an item’s due date, you must access your library account (see ‘How do I log into my account’). From your account, select the “Checked Out Titles” tab to view all your items.

To renew selected items, place a checkmark in next to each item you want to renew, then click ‘Renew Selected items’ button at the bottom of the page. You can also click the ‘Renew All’ button to renew all items you have checked out. If you are just renewing one item, click the ‘Renew’ button to renew. The new due date will appear in the due box.

Note: If your book fails to renew, please call the Goshen County Library at 307-532-3411 and we will help you renew your item over the phone

You may place a hold on a book located at Goshen County Library. To place a hold:

  1. Go to the catalog
  2. Search for the book you would like to put on hold. You can search by title, author, subject, or keyword.
  3. Once you have found the book you want, click on the blue ‘Place Hold’ button to the right of the format you would like.
  4. You will be prompted to provide your library card number if you are not signed in.

There are NO fines. When items are 21 days overdue, items are assumed lost, and a fee will be placed on the patron’s account. The patron will be blocked from borrowing until items are returned. Fees will be assessed for damaged materials.

Library Cards:

Anyone who lives, shops, studies, or works in Goshen County for at least two months out of the year may get a library card.

Library card applications can be filled out at the library. Please bring a photo ID and proof of address (such as a piece of mail, a digital bill, a utility bill, etc.)

You can also apply online and visit the library within two weeks of applying to get a permanent card. Please bring a Photo ID and proof of address when you pick up your library card.

The Goshen County Library offers cards for:

Adults
Issued to anyone 18 and older with a Photo ID and proof of address.

Minors
Issued to individuals under the age of 18 with guardian approval. Guardian must show a photo ID and sign the library card application.

Temporary
Issued to individuals who cannot give proof of address or live in Goshen County temporarily. These cards are active for 6 months with a 10 item maximum checkout, no renewals on items checked out, no fines, and access to all gowyld.net databases and Libby.

Libby:

Setting up your Libby account using your Goshen County Library Card
1. After the app is installed, tap the “Open” button
2. On the next screen, you will be asked, “Do you have a Library Card?” Tap “YES“, but be sure to have your card handy.
3. Tap the “Search for a Library” button
4. On the next screen, you want to type in “Goshen County.”
You should see a “Virtual Library of Wyoming” button appear. Tap it.
5. Look for the “Sign In with My Card” button. Tap it.
6. Select Goshen County Library from the list.
7. Enter the 15-digit card number below the bar code on the back of your library card.
DO NOT INCLUDE LETTERS OR SPACES. Tap next.
8. Enter your PIN. Unless you have changed it, it should be WYLD. (Try all capital letters first.) Tap the “Go” button.
9. You will see a picture of a card with your number; just tap the “Next” button.
10. If you have a Kindle Reader device, you can send the book to it by tapping “Read with Kindle.” If you are just going to read on your Amazon Fire tablet, press the “SKIP” button.

You now have your tablet connected to the Wyoming Library System, and you can check out books, audiobooks, and magazines to read on your tablet. If you need help using the app, stop by the library, and we can show you how it works.

When you search for a title that the Wyoming Virtual Library doesn’t own, the title will appear, and you can click “Notify Me.” This will send an anonymous request for the book title to the Wyoming Virtual Library.

Yes. The Goshen County Library has 3 computers with internet access and 1 computer for children with no internet access.

Yes. The Goshen County Library has free wifi that can be accessed inside the library or in the library parking lot.
